This policy explains how DR. APPLE & BROTHERS NIG LTD ("PhoneNow", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the PhoneNow app, this website and our store. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable law.

1. Data we collect

• Account details: your name, phone number, email address and profile photo.
• Identity verification: if you raise your Wallet limits, your BVN or NIN, a selfie, and for higher limits a proof of address. Your BVN or NIN is checked through our verification partner; staff can only see the last digits.
• Orders and delivery: items you buy, delivery addresses, delivery confirmation codes, and delivery evidence such as a photo and the device's IMEI or serial number.
• Payments: payment amounts, method and status. Card payments are handled by Paystack. We never see or store your full card number.
• Wallet and Buy in advance: your store-credit balance, top-ups, plans and instalments.
• Trade-ins: details and photos of devices you trade in, including IMEI or serial numbers and inspection results.
• Support: messages and photos you send to our team.
• Device and security data: device type, app version, trusted devices, sign-in records, and logs used to protect your account and prevent fraud.

2. Why we use it

• To create and secure your account, including sign-in codes, your PIN and Face ID or fingerprint (handled by your phone; we never receive your biometric data).
• To process orders, payments, deliveries, trade-ins, refunds and Buy in advance plans.
• To verify your identity and apply Wallet limits.
• To prevent fraud and handle chargebacks and disputes.
• To provide customer support and send you service messages about your orders and account.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• To send you offers, only if you agree. You can opt out at any time.

We rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legal obligations, our legitimate interests in running a safe store, and your consent where required.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run PhoneNow, under contracts that protect it:

• Paystack, for card and bank-transfer payments and refunds.
• Our identity verification partner, to check BVN or NIN details.
• Our SMS provider, to send sign-in codes and order updates.
• Our cloud hosting provider (Supabase), which stores app data on secure servers.
• Delivery riders, who receive your name, phone number and delivery address for your order.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

4. International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside Nigeria, for example on servers in the United Kingdom or the European Union. When this happens we take the safeguards required by Nigerian data protection law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your profile and personal content, but keep order, payment and audit records for as long as the law requires. See Delete your account.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

7. Security

We protect your data with encryption, access controls, a PIN and two-step login for staff, and an audit log of staff actions. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

8. Children

PhoneNow is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and tell you in the app about important changes.
